Ajodhya Pahar - The Chotanagpur Extent in West Bengal

Ajodhya Pahar, the 600 m-high hill, is located at the Western end of the state of West Bengal in Purulia district. It is around 330 km away from Kolkata and a popular weekend trip destination among the Bengalis in South Bengal. It's part of the age-old Chotanagpur Plateau of Central India.
In the mid September of 2026, we started the journey to Ajodhya Hills by road from Jhargram. The roadside beauty is truly picturesque.

Our next stops were the falls - first at Bamni Falls and then at Turga Falls. Though, you need to climb hundreds steps to reach the falls, but these are worth visiting especially in the Monsoon.

It's the place where people buy the iconic Mukhos / Masks of Gods and Local Tribal faces. It was the end stop of our trip. By night, we reached Jhargram. In the end, I can say that it is a worthwhile place for a weekend.
