On the Bank of the Subarnarekha



  Gopiballavpur a village cum town on the bank of the Subarnarekha River is situated in the Jhargram district. This town is beside the big Shal forest of Jhargram district.


   There is a Govt. Super Speciality hospital & a college named, 'Subarnarekha College' in this town. This place is a very good destination for a short hangout. The main connection with the outer world is via road. Several govt. & private buses run between Gopiballavpur & Kolkata. We reached here in the afternoon. After then, we went to the bank of the Subarnarekha River by cycling. Subarnarekha is, of course, a very big river.


 


  There is a park in the bank of the river named ECO PARK.




  There is also an ancient temple beside that place. The river was looking great in the low light of setting Sun. Our next day started by sightseeing the town in the morning. Just opposite to the hospital in the two sides of the road thee are two gardens for medicinal plants. The gardens are well decorated. In the noon, at first, we went to Karkata. It is basically a lake. A lake full of red water-lilies!





  The view from here was just fabulous. Local villagers use it for the daily bath. Then, we went to Rameshwar Temple, approx. 50 km away from the town.





  This is situated at one corner of Rohini Village. It is a very old Shiva temple. Many pilgrims not only from local but also from outsides come here. It is a quite famous temple. There is a small garden cum park beside this temple. The temple is at the upper portion of the land while in the lower portion there is a big lake known as Rameshwar Lake. In the afternoon, we went to the bank of the Subarnarekha River.






   As it was winter, only a string of water was flowing. Other portion of the river created small lakes & desert full of sands! The water of the lakes turned deep green. The whole scenery was very nice. Next day was homecoming day. We left the town in the early morning by riding a Govt. bus.

Evergreen Himachal

    It was on the 1st day of June. This time, it's Shimla, my dream city. We arrived at our boarding station, Howrah Jn in the afternoon. Our train, Kalka Mail was scheduled in the evening. Train Journey was Okay to say. We reached Kalka at the dawn of  3rd June. Though it's May, Kalka at dawn was very cold. Putting up sweaters & mufflers, I came out of the train. In the other side of the platform, Shimla going toy train, Shivalik Express was waiting for its passengers from Kalka mail. 2 Days in Biryani Capital

Travelling is a passion for me from the very early days. This time we opted for Hyderabad.    1 st day –    We were waiting for our prebooked train at the Vishakapatnam station for Hyderabad. That was an amazing feeling. Unfortunately, our train was late but, waiting for the train in the station was mostly interesting because on one side I was excited about Hyderbad and on the other side, I became hungry.
